2026 Church Man of the Year

Over his more than twenty (20) years of membership in First Presbyterian Church, Mesquite, our Man of the Year has not hesitated to perform labor or make financial donations to the needs of this Congregation. He has served multiple terms as both Deacon and Elder, has served as a substitute Sunday school teacher, and has worked diligently on various Congregational committees. As an internationally recognized championship chef, he has prepared and/or donated untold pots of chili, pounds of bacon, and complete meals for Men’s Council Breakfast Meetings, Congregational Dinners, as well as many special events conducted by the Boy Scout units sponsored by our Congregation.

Our Man of the Year, by education, experience, and talent in architecture, business, and construction, along with his decades-long career as an insurance adjustor specializing in buildings, has given him the unique ability to serve this congregation as the Chairman of a building and grounds committee. And, over the past several years, as problems with property overgrowth and deterioration of the aging building foundations and roofs have been recognized, he has worked tirelessly to resolve each situation. In many cases, absorbs the costs and/or performs the physical labor himself.

Our Man of the Year is a community leader who has been recognized for his many years of volunteer work on behalf of the City of Mesquite, Boy Scouts of America’s Circle Ten Council, Chili Appreciation Society International, and the Dallas Safari Club. And, our Church Man of the Year has shown his love for God and his witness for Christ in his daily life. First Presbyterian Church is fortunate to have a man of Roger B. Foltz’s character as a member of its congregation, and, for these reasons, Roger B. Foltz is First Presbyterian Church’s 2026 ‘Church Man of the Year.’
