The Youth gathered on Sunday, February 28 for a Scavenger Hunt. Three teams were sent around Mesquite to take pictures and then report back to the church. The youth all stopped by the home of Hope Sheppard. They had sites to discover around the square and City Park. They went out to TEEX and the Potter Cemetery. They went to see some familiar sights and count landmarks they may have not noticed. Did they know for whom Horn High was named? Did they know where a new business was located? Rev. Doughton led them through Psalm 139 as they enjoyed their treats. We learn in that Psalm that God is present with our past and future. God is aware of our details. God is our refuge. The youth saw the past of Mesquite (park, downtown, the cemetery). They saw little details (counting park benches, counting the pillars in front of Horn). They also learned that TEEX is also a refuge site for hurricane evacuees. Through the lesson they heard again that God is our refuge, God knows our details, and God knows our past/present/future.
