Grace Presbytery
Faith Sanctuary, First Presbyterian Church - Mesquite, Texas We are people of the Christian faith and we are a community, a fellowship of people who love and care for one another.
Community
We hope you will come and visit with us. Here, men, women, and children join together not because we are worthy or perfect Christians, but because we are not. We worship, pray, love, learn, and work together in order that we might become the people God calls us to be. We believe that to be part of the church involves seeking to be a forgiving, redeeming, restoring person after the example of our Lord himself.

At the entrance to a small midwestern town is a sign that says: "If you lived here, you'd be home now." Our church invites you to make this your spiritual home. It has been my privilege to see hearts touched and lives renewed within the fellowship of our church, to see people find new meaning and direction in life.

We invite you to be part of our church family. I look forward to greeting you personally.

Sunday, May 11, is Mother’s Day. Make it a FAMILY DAY AT CHURCH. Dave Edling and Verlyn Smoker will sing at 8:45, and the Chancel Choir men will sing at 11:00. Dr. Wilbanks will give the sermon “A Place Called Home” based on Deuteronomy 11:18-21. View Sunday's Bulletin

Sunday, in addition to being Mother’s Day, is Pentecost Sunday. The word “pente” means 50th, and this is the 50th day after Easter. This was the day the disciples received the power of the Holy Spirit and they then went out from Jerusalem to the known world with the story of Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, for the forgiveness of sins. The center window on the north side of the sanctuary is the Pentecost window with a dove, symbolic of the Holy Spirit, descending upon the orb of the world.

All women are encouraged to attend the Presbyterian Women Luncheon next Sunday after the 11:00 worship service. The PW Birthday Offering and Least Coin Offering will be dedicated and received. Representatives to church committees will be announced, and Meg Garver, Moderator-Elect of Grace Presbyterian Women, will install the new Coordinating Team. Please join us.

On April 4-6, around fifty women from our church attended the 4th Annual Women's Retreat at the Brookhaven Retreat Center in Hawkins. Click here to see a group photo courtesy of Kathy Uzzle.
