Nursery Program
|
We believe that infants and toddlers are important members of our faith community. We are concerned that when they are in the nursery they will be safe, that they have an opportunity to be with our other young children, and that they will experience, through the nursery program the love that God has for all children.
In order to ensure that our nursery program works well for everyone we have established the following policies:
- Our Christian Education Committee has mandated no fewer than two adults at all times in each room with youth and children under the age of 18.
- We will provide individual attention to any child who is crying or upset. If we are not able to distract or console your child, we will contact you.
- We know that it is difficult to leave if your child is crying. However, we have found that the children quickly become interested in the toys and other children in the room and usually stop crying in a very short time. Please feel free to watch your child through the window after you have left him/her in our care.
- We cannot accommodate the needs of a sick child and we will not give out any medication. If your child requires medication, please come back at the appropriate time.
- For the safety of all children, we request that parents only pick up your child from the nursery. Children will not be released to any other person without written direction of the parents and, then, only to adults or siblings age 13 or older.
In order for us to make your child as comfortable as possible:
- Please try to arrive at church early enough to give us information we need to care for your child and to allow for a smooth transition for your child.
- Label, with both your name and your child's name, any bottles, diaper bags or special toys that your child brings. Please send only plastic bottles.
- Please bring a change of clothing for your child, labeled with your child's name.
We encourage you to visit our nursery and to observe us in action. Please ask any questions that you wish and give us your ideas and suggestions .We believe that the nursery is an important part of our faith community. We hope you find that it meets all the needs of your family.
