This Week in Our Church

Plan to attend our church picnic on Sunday afternoon, September 26. It will be at a new location this year – Town Center Park, 356 Tripp Road in Sunnyvale. Freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided by the church. More details will be in your next church newsletter.

Fall is almost here and with it comes this year’s class for visitors and new members which Dr. Wilbanks leads on basic Christian and Presbyterian beliefs. The class will begin on Sunday, October 3, at 9:45, and will meet for six Sunday mornings. The first class includes a visit to the sanctuary for a description of the symbolism of our beautiful stained glass windows. Other classes cover our Presbyterian heritage and form of government and a look at the sacraments – baptism and the Lord’s Supper – and what it all means.

Daily Readings: The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) web service has several documents that change daily. Many people find them useful for daily meditation and prayer, or simply as a way to learn about Christian faith and the work we are doing in the world. The daily readings include a daily lectionary, mission yearbook, and questions from the new catechism.
